Job summary

Placements24, recruiting for a reputable construction and development firm, seeks a seasoned Civil Project Manager to oversee projects in Klerksdorp, North West. You will manage planning, procurement, execution and handover, lead teams and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, strong leadership and proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6, with travel to sites around Klerksd and in South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA is advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in project management within civil engineering and construction.
• Proven track record of managing medium to large-scale civil construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of civil construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure project objectives are met.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using project management software.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and safety regulations on all project sites.
• Manage project finances, including tracking costs, approving invoices, and forecasting expenditures.
• Oversee the procurement of materials and services, and manage subcontractor performance.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
• Prepare project status reports for senior management and clients in North West.
• Facilitate effective communication among all project stakeholders.
