Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Bookkeeper for a hybrid role in Mahikeng, North West. You will maintain ledgers, process payables/receivables, reconcile banks and ledgers, and prepare monthly statements and reports.

You will handle payroll submissions and ensure VAT and PAYE compliance, liaising with auditors as needed. The successful candidate will have a Diploma or certificate in Bookkeeping/Accounting and at least 3 years of experience, with proficiency in Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar role.
• Proficiency in bookkeeping software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and South African tax laws.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid setup.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate ledgers for all financial transactions.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Manage payroll processing and related submissions.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT and PAYE.
• Assist with audit preparations and liaise with auditors.
• Manage petty cash and ensure proper record-keeping.
• Maintain organized financial records and filing systems.
