Job summary

ATS Client in Pretoria seeks a Senior AI Engineer to build smart platforms, manage cloud infrastructure, and bring AI ideas to life. You’ll work at the intersection of AI, cloud engineering and platform reliability.

The role covers day-to-day cloud operations, designing and testing new cloud configurations, and optimizing performance and costs. You will support developers on platform topics and design AI services using REST and managed LLMs.

Qualifications

• Experience building cloud platforms with AI capabilities.
• Strong automation and infrastructure as code experience.
• Proficiency in Python and modern DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day cloud operations.
• Design, build and test new cloud configurations.
• Optimize performance, costs and operational excellence across cloud environments.
• Developer support regarding platform topics.
• Design, build and test AI services using REST and managed LLMs.
• Host, manage and tune deployed LLMs in GPU-enabled Kubernetes nodes.
• Design, build and test an AI RAG using a vector database.
