Job summary

Potentiam is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support four accounting teams with end-of-period close, variance analysis, and other financial processes. You will assist with workflow systems, document loading, and client email communications under supervision.

The role offers hybrid work in Cape Town CBD with standard hours. A tertiary accounting qualification and strong numerical and PC skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with an accounting system.
• Excellent numerical skills.
• Excellent PC literacy.
• Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Passion for working in the accounting field.
• Tertiary degree (Auditing, Accounting) or a Bookkeeping degree with experience.
• Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication in English - both written and verbal.
• Willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative assistance on workflow systems, for example loading documents.
• Email communication with clients, initially under the supervision of accountants.
• Support on accounts production once fully skilled.
• General Bookkeeping activities.
