Job summary

Network Finance is seeking an HVAC Engineer to lead projects from design through commissioning in the South Africa market. The role requires coordinating complex HVAC systems on commercial, industrial or data-centre scale projects, with focus on safety, quality and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering degree and at least five years of experience in HVAC project delivery, strong stakeholder management, and mentoring skills to support junior engineers and team

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering HVAC/mechanical projects within construction, engineering, building services or MEP.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, commissioning processes, submittals, quality control, and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate HVAC engineering activities from design through commissioning.
• Review drawings and specifications, manage technical submittals, support procurement.
• Liaise with clients and contractors; conduct quality inspections and resolve technical queries.
• Oversee subcontractors; prepare risk assessments; ensure compliance with quality, safety and project standards.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related qualification.


• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering HVAC/mechanical projects within the construction, engineering, building services or MEP industry.


• Proven experience on commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre or large-scale infrastructure projects.


• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, commissioning processes, technical submittals, quality control and project coordination.


• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving and project planning skills, with the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
