Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Mechanical Engineer specialized in HVAC to join our Bloemfontein team. You will design, implement, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for diverse projects, ensuring thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

Hybrid work arrangement available. The ideal candidate has a PE registration advantage and strong experience with HAP, TRACE 700, and Revit MEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC design experience.
• Proficiency with HVAC design tools (HAP, TRACE 700, Revit MEP).
• Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics and building physics.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Perform load calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection for heating, cooling, and ventilation.
• Develop detailed HVAC drawings, specifications, and schematics using CAD software.
• Conduct energy modeling to optimize system efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers to integrate HVAC designs.
