The Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government seeks to employ Human Resource Practitioners to provide recruitment, advise and support during interviews the Recruitment and Selection processes, as well as to provide a recruitment and selection consultancy service to client departments, including Senior Management. The successful incumbents must be willing to travel when required.
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma ( B-Degree or Higher qualification) majoring in HRM/ Industrial Psychology/ Human Resources/ Social Sciences / Humanities/ Public and Business Management Science or related field; A minimum of 1-year relevant experience in a Recruitment and Selection environment; A valid (Code B or higher) drivers licence.

Provide capacity building and advice in terms of the recruitment and selection processes. Administer the advertising and recruitment processes by providing advice on the advertisement activities; Response handling of applications; Identify, address and resolve recruitment selection delays; Facilitate and advise on the compiling of shortlists; Create competency-based interview questions; Facilitate and administer the selection process; Responsible for logistical arrangements for interviews; Finalize interview processes through competency assessments/proficiency tests Coordinate and facilitate the vetting processes (personnel suitability checks) in line with the legislative prescripts, nominations and the appointment decision, as well as the issuing of employment offers; Maintenance of the recruitment and selection database; Execute high standard of quality in all operational work; Dealing with inquiries from clients and applicants; Provide advisory and administrative support throughout the recruitment and selection process to Senior and Executive management. Ensure recruitment and selection data integrity and report on any irregularities; Communication across various levels regarding e-recruit processes; Advising Senior and Executive management on the recruitment and selection process and best talent. Administer and maintain the recruitment and selection system and provide a support service. Coordinate recruitment and selection information for reporting and monitoring purposes. Perform people manager functions.
National and Provincial instruments and legislation pertaining to human resources management with reference to the: Public Service Amended Regulations, 2023, Labour Relations Act (LRA), 66 of 1995, Public Service Act, 1994, Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) 75 of 1997, other related legislation,Recruitment and Selection processes, Recruitment Systems. Data management.

All shortlisted candidates shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
