Job Purpose: The Department of Department of the Premier, Western Cape Government has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to manage and implement programmes and projects focused on improving service delivery through digital initiatives within the WCG. This position is stationed in the Cape Town CBD.
An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree; A minimum of 3 years’ experience on a middle management level.

Key Performance Areas: Support the development, implementation, and alignment of digital government strategies, implementation plans, and policies; Conduct technology research, and promote and showcase innovation in emerging technologies to inform and enhance policy development; Manage the delivery of digital government initiatives, ensuring completion in accordance with best practices and WCG project management methodologies; Foster collaboration by building and maintaining strong partnerships with national and local government structures, WCG departments, external agencies, Academia, and residents to support co-creation and digital government initiatives; Coordinate and lead feedback campaigns to collate resident impact on digital government initiatives.
Knowledge of and working experience with the legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices that have a bearing on the line functions; Knowledge and understanding of information systems that aid in the management of knowledge and information pertaining to the line function; Knowledge and understanding of project management; Knowledge of operational management practices; Mentoring and coaching practices; National and provincial instruments and legislation pertaining to human resources management, financial management and supply chain management; Policies of the government of the day (national and provincial); Provincial government functions and services; Statutory framework governing the broad management of the publicservice; Staff performance management system; Disciplinary and grievance procedure.

Remuneration: All-inclusive salary package of R 932 292- R 1 098 195 per annum (Salary level 11). Note on remuneration:
Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
