Job summary

Air Liquide Large Industries South Africa (ALLISA) in Secunda is seeking a dedicated HSEQ Practitioner to drive Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across the operations. You will embed a proactive risk-based approach and ensure rigorous compliance with high-hazard standards.

You will develop safety plans, lead risk assessments, investigations and root-cause analyses, and coordinate audits, inspections, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives with frontline teams.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Safety Management or higher is preferred.
• Trade certification is advantageous.
• 2–5 years of experience in an HSEQ or high-risk environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive the HSEQ program across the value chain via risk-based excellence.
• Develop and implement safety plans for issues and shutdowns.
• Lead hazard identification and risk assessments (Baseline, Continuous, Issue-Based).
• Investigate non-conformances and incidents; perform root-cause analyses.
• Lead audits and inspections (lock-out/tag-out, logbooks, legal), improving compliance.
• Monitor safety, environmental and quality trends and drive improvements.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety stand-downs with frontline personnel.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment.
