Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist for fixed facilities in South Africa. You will drive HSE culture improvement, implement the HSE Management System, and ensure compliance with legal, business and client requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in HSE, preferably in Oil & Gas field operations. Strong communication, leadership, and travel readiness are essential as you coordinate multiple projects and influence teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Minimum 3 years in Health, Safety and Environment field, oil & gas preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with influence over teams
• Able to coordinate several projects simultaneously with analytical and organizational skills
• Willingness to travel and work in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Lead structure and framework for HSE compliance, audits and customer visits
• Monitor HSE fundamentals governance and KPI performance
• Ensure regulatory and contract HSE compliance
• Communicate high-level concepts to senior leadership
• Coach and develop subordinates; manage complex professional work
