Job summary

Delaire Graff Estate is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Generalist to join the HR team. The role covers both people-focused HR and the technical accuracy of payroll, working with employees, managers, and finance to ensure a compliant HR service across the Estate.

Responsibilities include managing fortnightly/monthly payroll, end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, employee relations guidance, and data integrity across systems.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in a generalist HR role with payroll responsibility.
• Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA), PAYE, UIF and COIDA.
• Payroll qualification/experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fortnightly and monthly payroll cycle including overtime, leave, deductions, appointments and terminations.
• Ensure accurate payroll processing, reconciliations, salary journals and statutory submissions (SARS, UIF, COIDA).
• Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding including advertising, shortlisting and offers.
• Provide HR support on employee relations, performance management and probation.
• Maintain employee records, ESS, pension fund administration and data integrity.
• Coordinate performance management, training and employee engagement initiatives.
• Prepare HR and payroll reports and assist with audits and HR projects.
• Act as a professional point of contact for employees and managers on HR/payroll matters.
