Job summary

Takealot Group in Cape Town invites applications for an HR intern within our Graduate Programme. You will support the Engineering & Product HR team with employee lifecycle tasks, data maintenance and HR documentation in a fast-paced tech retail environment.

This 18-month contract offers hands-on HR exposure, friendly mentorship, and opportunities to learn about reporting, SOPs and cross-functional projects within a leading e-commerce company in Africa.

Qualifications

• N6 Certificate in Human Resource Management is required.
• Excellent computer literacy and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Data interpretation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Administrative Support: Assist with end-to-end employee lifecycle administration, including onboarding preparation, offboarding documentation, and maintaining accurate personnel records.
• Data & Reporting Support: Help with collection and verification of HR data, ensuring spreadsheets and systems (like Greenhouse) are up to date. Assist in preparing basic reports and presentations.
• Process Maintenance: Support SOPs and filing systems, ensuring documentation is compliant and easy to retrieve.
• Communication Liaison: Act as a helpful point of contact for routine employee HR queries, escalating complex issues to the People Practitioner.
• Project Support: Participate in and support ad-hoc engineering and HR projects by performing research, taking minutes, or coordinating meeting logistics.
