Job summary

SIAAC Group in Cape Town seeks a mid-level HR professional to manage day-to-day HR operations while providing structured support to Finance; the CFO oversees HR. This role covers recruitment, onboarding, payroll inputs, leave, and performance processes.

You will maintain HR policies, handle employee documentation, prepare reports on headcount and movements, and assist with finance administration. 3–5 years of SA HR practice experience is expected and knowledge of SA employment law is required.

About the role

A mid-level dual-function role responsible for independently managing SIAAC’s day-to-day HR function, while providing structured operational support to Finance. The CFO retains executive oversight rather than carrying routine HR operations.

Key responsibilities

Human Resources

• Own day-to-day HR operations across the business and branch structure.
• Manage recruitment processes, onboarding, contracts, employee records, probation and exits.
• Manage leave, attendance, employee movements and payroll inputs.
• Coordinate performance review cycles and training and development administration.
• Maintain and implement HR policies, procedures and employee documentation.
• Handle routine employee relations matters and support managers with HR processes.
• Coordinate disciplinary and grievance processes, escalating complex matters where required.
• Prepare HR reporting covering headcount, vacancies, movements, leave and people metrics.
• Maintain organisational structures and job descriptions.

Finance / Accounts

• Support creditor and debtor administration.
• Assist with invoices, suppliers, expenses and payment documentation.
• Support reconciliations, finance trackers and month-end administration.
• Maintain finance documentation and support audit preparation.
• Provide general finance support under the direction of the Financial Accounts Manager.

Requirements

• Relevant HR qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Approximately 3–5 years’ HR experience with evidence of independently managing core HR processes.
• Working knowledge of South African employment practices.
• Payroll and employee data management experience.
• Practical finance/accounts administration exposure.
