Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking an experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join a prestigious hotel in Stellenbosch. You will oversee daily operations, lead the service team and ensure guest satisfaction in line with the hotel's standards.

The role requires strong leadership, hospitality qualifications, ability to handle guest queries, manage stock, and work shifts including weekends. Symphony experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Hospitality qualification from an accredited academic institution level NQF 5.
• Matric.
• Minimum one year experience as a Supervisor.
• WSET Level 1 – advantageous.
• Must be able to handle guest complaints and make decisions.
• Must be able to work shifts (late & early) and weekends.
• Good knowledge of food; wine and waiter skills.
• Basic Barista skills are required.
• Ability to control stock and perform monthly stock take.
• Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette.
• Willing to help out where needed.
• Must be customer service orientated.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Symphony experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the restaurant and ensure smooth service.
• Lead, supervise, motivate and support the restaurant team during service.
• Coordinate staff shifts and allocate duties to ensure adequate staffing.
• Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints professionally.
• Manage restaurant stock levels and conduct monthly stock takes.
• Monitor food, wine and beverage service to uphold standards and presentation.
• Collaborate with kitchen and hotel departments for seamless operations.
• Assist with training, development and onboarding of staff.
• Support the Restaurant Manager with daily administration and tasks.
