Job summary

Protea Hotels by Marriott Durban is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering & Facilities team. You will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance and support building operations on a busy hospitality property in Umhlanga Rocks, Durban.

The role requires a High school diploma or GED, a valid Driver’s License, and experience in general maintenance. You will work full-time on-site, maintain safety standards, and help keep guest comfort and hotel

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some experience in general maintenance preferred.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on building systems.
• Inspect and service HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
• Paint and repair interior/exterior surfaces.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and documents.
• Test and troubleshoot equipment; operate shut-offs.
