Job summary

Harbour House Hotel in Hermanus is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team and safeguard the property's facilities to the highest standards. You will oversee daily maintenance activities, plan preventive work, and coordinate with department heads to ensure guest comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, practical technical expertise, and a proven track record in hospitality maintenance.

Qualifications

Grade 12 certificate is essential.
Tertiary qualification in Maintenance Management preferred.
Project Management qualification preferred.
OHAS qualification advantageous.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the same or similar position.
Project management or Supervisory experience essential.
Previous experience in hospitality sector advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to mentor personnel and manage supplier relationships.
Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant field including experience in projects and maintenance.
Site and facilities experience preferred and experience in leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team.
A sound knowledge of architectural drawings and layouts, OHAS and related acts/regulations advantageous.

Responsibilities

Oversee all maintenance activities and ensure facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
Manage a team of maintenance staff and coordinate with other departments to address maintenance issues efficiently.
Contribute to safety, functionality and aesthetic quality of the property and guest experience.
