VACANCY: HOSPITAL MANAGER

The Hospital Manager will provide strategic, professional, and operational leadership to ensure the effective delivery of clinical and non‑clinical services at the facility. This includes implementing operational strategies, monitoring performance, and managing the daily functioning of the hospital to ensure high‑quality care and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the hospital's strategic and operational plans in alignment with group strategy.
• Participate in executive and governance functions, ensuring strong corporate leadership.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership, clinical teams, and external healthcare stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care.
• Ensure effective systems are in place for service delivery and clinical support that meet operational and regulatory standards.
• Drive business development by identifying new specialist needs, recruiting doctors, and supporting specialist practice growth.
• Analyse healthcare market trends and competitor activities to develop growth strategies.
• Oversee financial and budgetary planning, including cost‑benefit assessments for service provision.
• Promote transformation, inclusivity, and staff development in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
• Oversee the delivery of facility management services, capital projects, and infrastructure compliance.
• Support and evaluate clinical governance, policy implementation, and standards of care.
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement among hospital staff.

Requirements

• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in the healthcare sector.
• At least 5 years in a senior management role within a healthcare environment.
• A diploma or degree (NQF Level 7 or equivalent) in business, health services management, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification or MBA in a relevant field (preferred).
• Experience in corporate or clinical governance, project management, facilities management, and financial oversight.
• Strong understanding of healthcare systems, hospital operations, and current policy developments.
• Proven leadership in complex, high‑pressure environments.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to lead, influence, and implement service innovation.
• Strong grasp of operational performance metrics and systems.
• Self‑driven, adaptable, and proactive in decision‑making and continuous improvement.
