Job summary

Merand Corbett & Associates in South Africa seeks a energetic sales professional with FMCG experience and basic culinary knowledge to drive product demonstrations, expand market share and build strong client partnerships.

The role requires travel, a valid driver’s licence and the ability to present confidently to customers while achieving sales targets and maintaining excellent service standards.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required.
• A Degree or qualification in Food Technology or a related field would be advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ sales experience, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Basic cooking ability, with the confidence to conduct product demonstrations and customer presentations.
• Strong communication and formal presentation skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct sales calls using a value-added approach.
• Build and grow market share across relevant product categories.
• Drive and achieve sales volumes and budget targets.
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations for clients and customers.
• Research and develop product and industry knowledge.
• Support and implement promotional activities in line with required guidelines.
• Develop strong client relationships and ensure effective customer service.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends and provide relevant market intelligence.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and potential markets.
• Prepare and submit weekly sales and required reports within deadlines.
• Manage sales administration and other related duties.
• Assist with deliveries where required and in accordance with company standards.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate availability.
• Ensure vehicle tracking and related requirements are maintained in line with company standards.
