Placements24 is seeking a Substation Technician in Benoni to maintain, test and repair electrical equipment in high‑voltage substations, ensuring reliable power delivery across Gauteng. You will perform inspections, diagnose faults, install and commission new components, and keep precise records.

The role requires safe working practices, the ability to work at heights, and experience with TTR testers, insulation resistance testers and circuit breaker analyzers.

Qualifications

• Trade test certificate or a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in substation maintenance or related field.
• Strong understanding of high-voltage systems and substation operations.
• Experience with TTR testers, insulation resistance testers and circuit breaker analyzers.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, following safety procedures.
