Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Automotive Electrician with HV expertise to join a Centurion workshop. You will diagnose, troubleshoot and repair HV batteries, powertrains, and charging systems, working with advanced HV diagnostic tools and maintaining safety at all times.

The ideal candidate has a trade qualification and HV certification, with proven EV/HEV experience and strong fault-finding abilities in high voltage systems. A driver’s license is required for site operations.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a recognized trade qualification.
• Specific certification or demonstrated experience in high voltage automotive systems (e.g., IMI Level 3 or equivalent).
• Proven experience diagnosing and repairing HV electrical systems in electric and hybrid vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics, testing and repair of high voltage electrical systems in EVs and hybrids.
• Safely handle high voltage batteries, motors and power electronics.
• Interpret HV schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Use HV diagnostic tools and safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot charging systems including onboard and external interfaces.
• Maintain records of diagnostic and repair work.
• Stay updated with EV HV tech advancements.
