Placements24 is seeking a qualified Automotive Electrician with HV specialization for an advanced EV/Hybrid service role in George, Western Cape. The candidate will diagnose, repair, and maintain HV systems, batteries, motors, and charging equipment, using dedicated HV tools and safe procedures.
The role requires 4+ years in automotive electrical work, with certification in high-voltage systems and strong ECU/network knowledge.
Qualifications
- Trade-qualified Automotive Electrician with HV specialization.
- Certified or demonstrably experienced in high-voltage automotive systems.
- Minimum 4 years in automotive electrical systems.
- Proficient with HV diagnostic equipment and safety protocols.
- Strong ECU/network knowledge (CAN/LIN) and schematics reading.
- Detail-oriented with good communication and customer focus.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain high-voltage systems in EVs and Hybrids.
- Service HV batteries, motors, inverters, and charging systems.
- Use HV diagnostic tools safely and effectively.
- Read and interpret HV schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Perform system checks and safety procedures on HV components.
- Conduct battery health assessments and routine electrical checks.
- Troubleshoot vehicle electronics including windows, lighting, and infotainment.
- Keep up to date with EV tech advances and document repairs.
