Placements24 seeks a skilled Automotive Electrician with HV expertise to join a Centurion workshop. You will diagnose, troubleshoot and repair HV batteries, powertrains, and charging systems, working with advanced HV diagnostic tools and maintaining safety at all times.

The ideal candidate has a trade qualification and HV certification, with proven EV/HEV experience and strong fault-finding abilities in high voltage systems. A driver’s license is required for site operations.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and certified Automotive Electrician with specialized expertise in high voltage (HV) systems to join their dynamic workshop in Centurion, Gauteng . As the automotive industry increasingly shifts towards electric and hybrid vehicles, this role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of these advanced systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical faults in HV batteries, powertrains, charging systems, and related components. You will work with the latest diagnostic equipment and tools specifically designed for HV vehicles, adhering to strict safety protocols at all times. Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, testing, and repair of high voltage electrical systems in electric and hybrid vehicles.
• Safely handle and work with high voltage batteries, motors, and power electronics.
• Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams specific to HV systems.
• Use specialized diagnostic equipment and tools for HV systems, including oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Troubleshoot and repair charging system issues, including onboard chargers and external charging equipment interfaces.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of HV electrical components.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures for working with high voltages.
• Educate and advise service advisors and customers on HV system maintenance and operation.
• Maintain accurate records of all diagnostic and repair work performed.
