Job summary

Placements24 seeks an IT & Computer Science Teacher for a Randburg high school. You will deliver engaging IT/CS instruction across grades 8–12, develop curricula, and guide students through programming concepts from Python to Java.

Applicants should hold a CS/IT degree with PGCE and have strong classroom management and the ability to explain complex topics clearly. This role emphasizes modern tech usage and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field with teaching qualification (PGCE).
• Minimum 4 years of high school IT/CS teaching experience.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages and concepts (Python, Java, C++, HTML/CSS, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment in CS education.
• Excellent understanding of IT infrastructure, software, and emerging technologies.
• SACE registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver IT and Computer Science instruction to grades 8–12.
• Develop curriculum, lesson plans, and learning materials aligned with standards.
• Teach programming concepts (Python, Java, C++, HTML/CSS, JavaScript).
• Foster computational thinking, problem solving, and digital citizenship.
• Utilize varied teaching methodologies including practicals, projects, and simulations.
• Assess student progress via tests, assignments, projects, and practicals.
