Placements24 is seeking an Architectural Technologist for a heritage conservation role based near Rustenburg, North West. You will conduct site surveys, develop measured drawings, and produce technical documentation for restoration and adaptive reuse of heritage buildings.

The role requires 5–7 years in heritage/conservation projects, strong AutoCAD and Revit skills, and knowledge of SA heritage guidelines (NHRA).

Qualifications

Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
5–7 years' heritage/conservation or adaptive reuse experience.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and related software.
Knowledge of SA heritage legislation (NHRA) preferred.
Strong drawings, detailing, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed site surveys and condition assessments of heritage buildings.
Prepare measured drawings and 3D models of heritage structures.
Develop technical drawings and specifications for restoration and adaptive reuse.
Research historical building methods and materials relevant to projects.
Collaborate with architects, heritage consultants, and conservation authorities.
Assist in planning applications and conservation management plans.
Ensure interventions comply with conservation guidelines.
Prepare tender documentation and assist in tendering processes.
Oversee site works ensuring adherence to best practices.
Maintain project records and documentation.
