Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture with heritage conservation specialization.
• Professional SACAP registration.
• Minimum 7 years of architectural experience focused on heritage conservation and restoration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of SA heritage legislation (NHRA).

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed condition assessments and historical research for heritage buildings.
• Develop conservation management plans and strategies for preservation and adaptive reuse.
• Prepare architectural drawings, specifications and reports for conservation/restoration.
• Liaise with heritage bodies, authorities, and stakeholders for approvals and compliance.
• Oversee on-site conservation works, ensuring traditional techniques are used.
• Collaborate with archaeologists, conservators, and engineers.
