Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture with heritage conservation specialization.
• Professional SACAP registration.
• 7+ years of architectural practice with heritage conservation/restoration focus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct condition assessments and historical research for heritage buildings.
• Develop conservation management plans for preservation and adaptive reuse of historic structures.
• Prepare architectural drawings, specifications and reports for conservation/restoration projects.
• Liaise with heritage bodies and authorities to secure approvals and ensure compliance.
• Oversee conservation works on-site using traditional techniques and materials.
• Collaborate with archaeologists, conservators and engineers.
• Advise on materials and methods for heritage restoration in the Free State.
• Document progress for archival purposes.
