Placements24 is seeking an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver for long-haul interprovincial runs from the Rustenburg depot in North West. You will operate a modern fleet, conduct thorough vehicle inspections, and ensure safe, on-time deliveries across provinces.

Responsibilities include route planning, accurate logging, and maintaining high safety and customer service standards while adhering to all regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid South African driver’s license with a PDP and EC/Code 10 or higher.
• 3–5 years of verifiable HGV experience, preferably long-haul.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Driver to join their expanding transport division. This position involves long-haul driving, transporting goods across provinces, and requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for the secure transport of various materials, ensuring deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition. You will operate a modern fleet of trucks, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies. This role is based out of our Rustenburg depot and offers a challenging yet rewarding career in the transport industry within the North West province. Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy goods vehicles safely and efficiently for interprovincial transport.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and its load.
• Securely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and handling.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company protocols.
• Plan and manage routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Address and report any vehicle mechanical issues, accidents, or delivery discrepancies promptly.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the assigned vehicle.
• Represent our client professionally at all times during transit and at delivery/pickup points.

Requirements

• Valid South African driver's license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) and an EC (Code 10) or higher classification.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience driving heavy goods vehicles, preferable in long-haul transport.
• Clean driving record with no major infringements.
• Thorough understanding of provincial road networks and driving conditions.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across long distances.
• Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading duties and perform vehicle checks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing road conditions.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to adhere to strict safety and compliance standards.
• Reside within a commutable distance to Rustenburg or be willing to relocate.
