• Plan and execute optimal routes, considering factors like traffic, road conditions, and delivery schedules.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or required maintenance immediately.
• Ensure all cargo is loaded, secured, and unloaded in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, and delivery details.
• Uphold a professional image when interacting with clients and the public.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations and company protocols.
• Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and maintain optimal schedule adherence.
• Respond promptly to dispatch instructions and communicate any delays or issues proactively.

Requirements

• Valid South African driver's license with Code 10/EC1 and ability to obtain Code 14/EC endorsements.
• Valid PrDP (Professional Driver's Permit) is mandatory.
• Significant proven experience operating Heavy Goods Vehicles.
• A spotless driving record and a history of safe driving practices.
• Extensive knowledge of road networks within North West province and surrounding areas.
• Proficiency in securing different types of cargo.
• Ability to work independently and manage schedules over extended periods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unforeseen circumstances.
• Good physical health and the capacity to handle manual loading/unloading tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
