Placements24 in Richards Bay is seeking a skilled Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join our maintenance team. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose complex issues, and repair heavy-duty trucks and buses to ensure fleet readiness and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Commercial Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems.
• Experience with brakes, suspension and electrical systems on commercial vehicles.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools specific to commercial vehicles.
• Strong understanding of vehicle safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical failures using diagnostic tools, and perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, identifying and reporting defects or maintenance needs.
• Utilize specialized tools and equipment to service and repair commercial vehicles effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities per vehicle.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company policies.
