Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, through Traka Africa, seeks a Head Office Technician to install and support Traka key management and locker systems, and manage related hardware, software and networks. You will provide customer and internal support, document processes, and assist with project planning and deployments.

You will configure equipment, perform backups, and ensure SOPs are followed, with occasional travel to remote sites for installations and tests.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid Code 8 Driver’s License.
• Relevant Technical Qualification (IT, Electronics, Electrical, Networking, or similar).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical support or systems maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for Traka systems and related products.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and communication issues.
• Provide remote support to customers and field-based technicians.
• Escalate unresolved issues to vendors or senior technical resources.
• Monitor and maintain system performance and functionality.
• Configure, test, and commission Traka cabinets and lockers.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain Traka software applications.
• Prepare and test equipment before deployment to sites.
• Maintain inventory records for technical equipment and spare parts.
• Conduct system installations, commissioning, and upgrades.
• Support Project Managers with technical requirements.
• Assist with factory and site acceptance testing.
• Travel to remote sites for projects, including overnight stays.
