Job summary

Origin Wine Stellenbosch is seeking a Head of Supply Chain to lead and optimise the end-to-end supply chain function. The role requires strategic thinking across procurement, planning, inventory and logistics, with strong supplier management and financial acumen.

You will collaborate with Winemaking, Production, Finance, Sales and Marketing to align supply chain activities with business goals and drive cost reductions, stock optimisation and risk management in a fast-paced wine environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years in supply chain
• Minimum 5 years in senior management or leadership position.
• Strong experience across procurement, planning, inventory and logistics.
• Experience with ERP systems and supply chain planning tools.

Are you a strategic supply chain leader with a passion for the wine industry and a strong track record in procurement, planning, logistics and operational excellence?

Origin Wine Stellenbosch is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Head of Supply Chain to lead and optimise our end-to-end supply chain function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement the company’s end-to-end supply chain strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead procurement, inventory management, warehousing and logistics.
• Manage relationships with key suppliers and service providers, ensuring competitive pricing, quality and reliable supply.
• Develop effective demand and supply planning processes to ensure product availability while optimising stock levels.
• Oversee inventory management and ensure accurate stock forecasting and control.
• Collaborate closely with Winemaking, Production, Finance, Sales and Marketing to align supply chain activities with business requirements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiencies and optimise working capital.
• Monitor and manage key supply chain performance indicators and implement corrective actions where required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant company standards, legislation and industry requirements.
• Lead, mentor and develop the supply chain team.
• Identify and manage supply chain risks, including supplier, production, logistics and stock-related risks.
• Drive continuous improvement, process optimisation and the implementation of best-practice supply chain solutions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Operations Management or a related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years’ relevant supply chain experience, preferably within the wine, beverage, FMCG or manufacturing industry.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior management or leadership position.
• Strong experience across procurement, planning, inventory and logistics.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Experience with ERP systems and supply chain planning tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A hands-on, solutions-driven approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
