Job summary

Dixie Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Head of Operations (Landscaping) to lead day-to-day operations across multiple client sites in the Seychelles. You will manage 50+ staff, including managers and supervisors, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery of landscaping, irrigation and maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification in horticulture, landscaping or operations management.
• 7–10 years’ experience in operations management, preferably in landscaping, horticulture, construction, facilities or related environments.
• Proven experience managing large teams including managers, supervisors, technical staff and field personnel.
• Strong practical understanding of landscaping maintenance, irrigation, construction and large-site operations.
• Experience managing multiple contracts, projects, budgets, resources and priorities.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills with senior-level engagement.
• Sober habits, clear criminal record, valid passport and strong references.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and drive daily operations across client sites, projects and nursery activities.
• Lead Operations Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and field teams with accountability and productivity.
• Ensure staffing, equipment and resources meet deadlines, quality standards and client expectations.
• Oversee landscaping maintenance, installation and irrigation operations to specification and safety.
• Monitor labor, materials, equipment, budgets, overtime and profitability across contracts.
• Conduct site inspections and promptly address operational, quality and safety issues.
• Develop relationships with clients and act as senior point of contact for operational matters.
• Oversee utilization and maintenance of vehicles, machinery, tools and irrigation gear.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Finance on resource planning and cost control.
• Drive continuous improvement and support senior management with strategy and growth.

HEAD OF OPERATIONS (Landscaping) – SEYCHELLES

Our client in the Seychelles is looking for a strong Head of Operations to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of an established landscaping and horticulture business, managing 50+ employees and multiple client sites.

This is a senior, hands-on and client-facing role requiring strong experience in landscaping, irrigation, maintenance, construction and large-site operations, together with proven leadership and operational management skills.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Matric and relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture, Landscaping or Operations Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the planning, coordination and performance of daily operations across client sites, projects and nursery activities.

• Lead and manage Operations Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors, technical personnel and field teams, ensuring strong accountability and productivity.

• Ensure contracts and projects are appropriately staffed, equipped and resourced to meet deadlines, quality standards and client expectations.

• Oversee landscaping maintenance, installation and irrigation operations, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely and to specification.

• Monitor contract and project performance, including labour, materials, equipment, budgets, overtime, costs and profitability.

• Conduct regular site inspections and address operational, quality, safety, staffing and service issues promptly.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a senior point of contact for operational and technical matters.

• Oversee the effective utilisation, maintenance and replacement of vehicles, machinery, tools and irrigation equipment.

• Work closely with Procurement and Finance to ensure effective resource planning, cost control and availability of operational supplies.

• Drive continuous improvement across the operation while supporting senior management with operational strategy, workforce development and future growth.
