Placements24 seeks a visionary Lead Research Chemist in Centurion to guide an R&D team focused on innovative materials development. You will oversee projects from conception through scale-up and translate lab findings into commercially viable products.

The role demands a PhD in Chemistry with Materials Science or related specializations, 8+ years of experience, and strong leadership with excellent communication skills to drive cross-functional collaboration.

Qualificações

• PhD in Chemistry with specialization in Materials Science, Organic Chemistry, or Polymer Chemistry.
• 8+ years of progressive research experience in materials development with a proven track record of innovation.
• Hands-on experience with synthetic organic chemistry and polymer synthesis.
• Proficiency in advanced material characterization techniques and data interpretation.
• Demonstrated leadership experience including team management and project oversight.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage a team of research chemists and technicians focused on materials development.
• Design and conduct synthetic routes for novel polymers, composites, or nanomaterials.
• Characterize material properties using spectroscopy, chromatography, and thermal analysis.
• Oversee pilot-scale synthesis and process optimization for newly developed materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers and product development specialists.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and laboratory best practices in Centurion.
