Job summary

Execustaff South Africa (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee administrative and day-to-day maintenance activities on site. You will control budgets, manage time sheets, and ensure accurate record-keeping and safety compliance.

This role requires coordinating with HR and security, handling insurance claims, and directing a team of maintenance staff to deliver reliable plant upkeep and preventive maintenance aligned with production needs.

Responsibilities

• Control expenditure within the approved budget for plant repairs and building maintenance.
• Ensure daily job/time sheets are submitted timeously.
• Capture completed job cards on a daily basis.
• Submit daily attendance register and pay queries relating to time keeping.
• File copies of attendance registers and pay queries.
• Inform security through written passes before contractors enter premises.
• Complete accident reports for WCA when necessary.
• Raise purchase requisitions with the correct authorization before official H.I. orders are produced.
• Ensure critical spares are made stock items.
• Complete insurance claims due to unforeseen machine breakdowns.
• Responsible for planned preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Plan maintenance needs according to production requirements.
• Prioritize work daily.
• Supervise maintenance employees.
• Assign work to subordinates and instruct them on actions to take to achieve a high degree of resourcefulness and ingenuity.
• Ensure subordinates are equipped with the proper safety equipment to perform their functions/tasks.
• Motivate subordinates to achieve maximum productivity.
• Resolve grievances that may arise within the maintenance department.
• Ensure consistent application of the Code of Conduct.
• Liaise with HR regarding disciplinary corrective action when required.
• Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures to hourly paid employees.
• Identify training and on‑the‑job training needs for subordinates in conjunction with the Training Department.
• Arrange for replacements by liaising with the HR department.
