Job summary

Inuka Partners is assisting a global energy company to appoint a senior HR Director based in Johannesburg to align local people strategy with global priorities and lead the HR function.

You will partner with senior leaders on transformation, talent and organisation development, oversee HR operations and employee relations, and drive a high‑performance culture through data‑driven decisions and robust governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HR experience including 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Experience in multinational, matrixed organisations in energy/utilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour law and employee relations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the South African HR strategy in line with global priorities.
• Partner with senior leadership on business strategy, transformation, talent, and organisational development.
• Lead HR Business Partnering, employee relations, and HR operations teams.
• Oversee employee and labour relations, ensuring compliance with local employment legislation.
• Use HR analytics, digital tools, and data to improve decision-making and HR effectiveness.
• Drive organisational change, employee engagement, and a performance-oriented culture.
• Support ethics, compliance, and governance initiatives across the business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
