Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking a Supervisor Health & Safety to lead H&S management across the business unit, ensuring compliance with standards and driving continuous improvement. The role requires planning, implementing and monitoring health and safety programs, budgets, and performance indicators.

The role emphasizes coordinating with management and stakeholders, conducting audits, and maintaining ISO 14001 compliance, while overseeing project execution and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• NQF 6 (National Diploma or an Advanced Certificate) Health & Safety / Risk / Mining / Processing / Engineering OR Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Practice in Mining (WCL2)
• At least 5 years’ experience as Supervisor Health & Safety or at Supervisory Level in a similar environment
• Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
• Clear security screening record.
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
• Advanced Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Practice in Mining (WCL3)

Responsibilities

• Health & Safety Management
• Determines objectives and targets with regards to Health and Safety systems and services
• Advises Management and stakeholders on matters relating to Health and Safety
• Informs Management on tactical issues within the Health and Safety Unit’s scope
• Ensures that matters of tactical value are executed within the Health and Safety Unit’s function
• Compiles and manages the annual budget and monitors expenditure
• Implements and maintains Health, Safety and Environmental systems (ISO 14001)
• Schedules and undertakes periodic Health and Safety audits and inspections
• Coordinates Health and Safety projects and ensures regulatory compliance
• Performs continuous research to improve results
• Maintains PPE usage and safety responsibility
• Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of work
