Aspen Pharma Group in South Africa seeks a senior engineering leader to head engineering, maintenance, facilities and utilities across operations. You will drive reliable equipment, efficient production, cost control and compliance with pharmaceutical quality and safety standards.

You will oversee capital projects, lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensure safety, implement energy efficiency, manage budgets and supplier relationships, and maintain regulatory records.

Qualifications

• 15 years’ Pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance experience.
• 5–8 years’ Leadership experience.
• Bachelor's in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering; Masters advantageous; Engineering Certificate of Competence.

Responsabilités

• Provide engineering support to improve manufacturing processes, product costs, workflow, quality and safety.
• Oversee the maintenance of equipment and facilities to improve machine efficiency and reliability.
• Provide technical guidance for existing operations, new installations and capital projects.
• Manage site utilities to ensure reliable support for manufacturing, laboratories, warehouses and offices.
• Coordinate external contractors and work with suppliers to source suitable equipment, materials and spare parts.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety, ergonomic, quality and operational standards
• Plan, manage and execute capital projects within approved budgets and timelines.
• Develop and manage the engineering and plant operating budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Oversee preventative maintenance, calibration and breakdown services.
• Manage engineering systems, deviations and equipment SOPs.
• Drive energy efficiency and optimise equipment performance.
• Ensure the unit complies with company policies, procedures and operational guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Recommend and implement risk-based compliance systems to improve overall compliance performance.

Job Requirements

Qualification:

• Grade 12/Matric
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering;
• Masters qualification is advantageous
• Engineering Certificate of Competence (Government ticket)

Experience:

• 15 years’ Pharmaceutical manufacturing maintenance experience
• 5 - 8 years’ Leadership experience
