Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Development Director to lead fundraising efforts in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. This senior role drives strategy, donor cultivation, and resource development to advance healthcare access in underserved communities.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, grant management, and strategic partnerships, with a hybrid work model balancing on-site collaboration and community engagement in Port Elizabeth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field; CFRE is a strong asset.
• Minimum 8 years in non-profit fundraising and development, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in securing major gifts, grants and corporate sponsorships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet annual and long-term goals.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
• Oversee grant writing and management with timely, competitive submissions.
• Lead campaigns for annual giving, planned giving, and special events.
• Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors.
