Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Director of Development and Fundraising in Pretoria, Gauteng, to lead comprehensive fundraising strategy across major gifts, grants, and campaigns. You will cultivate donors, manage partnerships, and guide a high-performing development team to advance the organization's mission.

The role requires 8–10 years of fundraising with at least 5 in leadership, plus strong strategic planning, financial acumen, and CRM proficiency.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years progressive fundraising experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in achieving significant fundraising targets, including major gifts and grants.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing capital campaigns or major donor initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement multi-year fundraising plans to meet financial goals.
• Lead cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Oversee grant writing and reporting processes with timely submissions.
• Build and manage relationships with stakeholders and benefactors.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing development team.
• Create compelling case statements and donor communications.
