Job summary

Wembley College, a respected English-medium independent school located in Greytown, seeks a Senior Boarding House Parent to oversee the boarding establishment. Responsibilities include 24/7 standby, maintaining administrative records, coordinating daily routines, and ensuring the safety and well-being of boarders in a supportive environment.

The role involves leading staff, managing boarding activities, and liaising with parents and the school.

Qualifications

Matric and child-related certification preferred.
Clear Criminal Record required.
1-2 years boarding establishment experience preferred.
Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

24/7 standby: maintain consistent communication with parents.
Administration: track and update all boarding admin, prepare letters, maintain records and inventories, and manage incident reports.
Lead and manage boarders by tracking attendance at activities, coordinating daily routines, and ensuring well-being and safety.
Manage staff: create duty rosters, run weekly staff meetings, monitor daily routines, and improve systems for efficient operations.
Oversee catering: meet with caterers weekly.
Conduct maintenance checks of the boarding establishment buildings.
Foster positive communication with parents and school staff; attend meetings to keep leadership informed.
Ensure security: manage alarm system, liaise with security, control late-night access.
