Qualifications

• Extensive playing and/or coaching experience at professional or international level.
• Minimum of 10 years coaching experience, with 5+ years in head/senior role.
• World Rugby Level 4/5 coaching certification or equivalent credential.
• Proven ability to develop players technically, tactically, physically and mentally.
• Strong leadership, motivation and decision-making skills.

About the Role

This fully remote role requires a coach with a deep understanding of rugby strategy, player development, and elite sports management. You will be responsible for all aspects of the academy's coaching, from designing training curricula to identifying and nurturing top-tier talent within Paarl, Western Cape and beyond. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of success in developing professional rugby players. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Extensive playing and/or coaching experience at a professional or international level.
• A minimum of 10 years of coaching experience, with at least 5 years in a head coaching or senior coaching role, preferably within an academy or development program.
• Possession of advanced coaching certifications (e.g., World Rugby Level 4/5 coaching accreditation).
• Demonstrated ability to develop players technically, tactically, physically, and mentally.
• Strong leadership, motivational, and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent understanding of player welfare and duty of care.
• Proven experience in strategic planning and program management.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with players, staff, and stakeholders remotely.
• Familiarity with performance analysis software and virtual coaching platforms.
