Kendrick Recruitment seeks a creative, hands-on Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a luxury boutique hotel in Plettenberg Bay. You will oversee daily operations, craft menus with the Group Food Ambassador, and mentor a high-performing kitchen team.

You will drive food quality, manage costs and stock, ensure health and safety compliance, and collaborate with front-of-house to deliver personalised guest experiences.

Formación

• Minimum three years’ experience as a Head Chef or in a comparable kitchen leadership role within luxury or boutique hospitality.
• A formal culinary qualification from a recognised institution.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver high-quality menus.
• Strong leadership, communication and team management skills.
• Sound financial acumen, including cost control and stock management.
• Excellent organisational, administrative and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong computer literacy; TallOrder or similar systems advantageous.
• A thorough understanding of kitchen health, safety and hygiene standards.

Responsabilidades

• Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
• Create and execute menus and culinary concepts in collaboration with the Group Food Ambassador.
• Inspire; mentor and develop the kitchen team, encouraging teamwork, creativity and accountability.
• Maintain a hands-on, visible presence in the kitchen, remaining calm and organised during busy services.
• Manage food costs, stock control, ordering and kitchen administration.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and food hygiene requirements.
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver seamless, personalised guest experiences.
