Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a prestigious luxury hotel in Midrand, Gauteng. You will oversee all food preparation, presentation and service, ensuring consistently high dining standards for guests.

The role requires strong leadership, culinary excellence and a creative approach to menu development. You will manage costs, stock, and compliance with food safety regulations, while mentoring a skilled kitchen team.

Qualifications

• Proven Head Chef or senior kitchen manager in luxury hospitality.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Creative approach to menu development and presentation.
• Understanding of food costing and stock control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen team and daily operations.
• Oversee food preparation, presentation and service across the property.
• Develop and maintain high culinary standards.
• Plan menus and contribute creative ideas to guest dining.
• Monitor food quality, stock levels and wastage; ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Manage kitchen costs and work toward food cost targets.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff.
• Coordinate kitchen rosters and staffing.
• Collaborate with hotel management to ensure guest service.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.
