You will manage kitchen operations, mentor the brigade, and ensure food safety while driving profitability and operational efficiency in a fine dining environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Head Chef or Executive Sous Chef in high-volume, reputable restaurants or hotels.
• Demonstrated creativity and expertise in menu engineering and culinary artistry.
• Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, international cuisines, and presentation styles.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in kitchen management software and cost control techniques.
• Formal culinary training or equivalent apprenticeship and a deep understanding of the Cape Town culinary landscape.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute innovative and seasonal menus that align with the restaurant's brand and customer expectations.
• Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory control, and ordering of supplies.
• Lead, mentor, and train the kitchen brigade, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and culinary creativity.
• Ensure adherence to strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
• Control food costs and labor expenses to meet budgetary goals without compromising quality.
• Collaborate with the restaurant management team on event planning and special culinary promotions.
