SANParks (Groenkloof National Park) is seeking a Handyman to perform general building maintenance and repairs under the Officer: Maintenance. The role requires Grade 12, a Technical Trade certificate in plumbing, carpentry or building, and 2-3 years of practical experience.

The on-site position involves plumbing, carpentry, electrical basics, roofs, painting, and record-keeping while upholding health and safety procedures. Remuneration aligns with SANParks HR Tariff Document and Conditions.

Qualifikationen

• 2-3 years practical maintenance/technical experience.
• Advanced knowledge in maintenance, plumbing, carpentry or building is an advantage.

Aufgaben

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out basic maintenance work such as plumbing, building works, fence maintenance, carpentry works and civil works.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance, such as replacing light fittings, switches, and sockets where legally permitted.
• Maintenance and repair of cupboards, floor decks and doors.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Installation and replacement of window glass panes, doors, and windows flyscreen.
• Repair or replace plumbing fitments such as water taps, toilet flush mechanism, water pipes, unblocking of blocked sewer rain and geyser fittings.
• Maintenance and repair of all roofs.
• Repair and replacement of pavement.
• Painting of building.
• Follow all health, safety, and workplace procedures.
• Monthly material stock control.
• Safe keeping of material, equipment, and tools in storerooms.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance issues.
• Keep accurate records of completed maintenance work and materials used.

The remuneration package includes a basic salary aligned with the Paterson B1 job grade, along with applicable allowance and benefits and outlined in SANParks HR Tariff Document and Conditions.
