Job summary

Tsebo Facilities Solutions in Cape Town seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to undertake planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs under guidance from the Senior Technician. The role focuses on safe, high-quality workmanship across building services, including woodworking, tiling, plumbing, and electrical basics.

You will compile material requirements, submit weekly maintenance check sheets, and help maintain a clean, organized workshop while adhering to SHEQ standards and ISO

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in general building maintenance and repairs.

Building Services Maintenance & Repairs

• Undertake planned preventative maintenance tasks allocated by the Senior Technician.
• Undertake reactive maintenance tasks and repairs allocated by the Senior Technician.
• Apply best operating practices when carrying out maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Compile and submit material requirements to the Senior Technician to ensure successful execution of maintenance work.
• Complete and submit maintenance check sheets to the Senior Technician on a weekly basis.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.

Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance

• Adhere to Tsebo Facilities Solutions' Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System policies and procedures.
• Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 standards relevant to the role.
• Follow all safety requirements and report hazards or non-compliance where identified.

Ad Hoc Responsibilities

• Perform any other reasonable duties or actions as requested by management.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong background in woodworking and the ability to operate woodworking machinery and perform furniture repairs.
• Good knowledge of door closers, door pumps, door locks, hinges, windows, and window fittings.
• Good understanding of different types of tiling and flooring.
• Basic welding knowledge.
• Knowledge of tools and materials used within the area of responsibility.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems would be advantageous.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage own workload effectively.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and customer relationship management skills.
