Job summary

MyCareerCraft is seeking a hands-on Financial Manager to lead the finance function across multiple sites in a retail/franchise operation. You will own month-end close, balance sheet integrity, cash control and provide reliable numbers for decision making.

You will drive budgeting, forecasts, and profitability analysis by product, customer and store, while strengthening internal controls and coordinating audits. Experience in IFRS, SA tax, and SAP is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Financial Management / Accounting or related field (NQF 8).
• CIMA: registered or studying towards.
• 7 years' financial management experience in manufacturing and/or FMCG, including 3–5 years at management level.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and South African statutory and tax requirements.
• Deep knowledge of cost accounting and inventory valuation, including product cost roll-ups in an ERP (SAP or similar).
• Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations, account substantiation and ageing analysis, plus cash, debtor, creditor and working-capital control.
• Advanced Excel (financial modelling, data analysis) and BI/reporting tool proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail, with the confidence to challenge control weaknesses and escalation concerns.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close and deliver accurate management accounts, flash reports and forecasts on deadline.
• Take full accountability for balance sheet accuracy: reconcile, investigate and clear all reconciling items.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity and working capital, including debtor, creditor and inventory controls.
• Lead budgeting and rolling forecasts, and analyse margin and profitability by product, customer and store.
• Maintain strong internal controls, manage audit and statutory compliance and close out audit findings.
• Support store managers and the General Manager with financial guidance and decision support.
• Lead and develop the finance team where applicable.
