Job summary

STELO seeks an Instrumentation Technician in South Africa to install, maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation and automation systems on primary gyratory crushers, ensuring sensor accuracy and reliable process monitoring.

You will work with TIMS sensors and Metso TSUV platforms to support health and predictive maintenance, requiring 3–5 years of mining instrumentation experience.

Qualifications

• Instrumentation Technician Trade Test / National Diploma in Instrumentation or equivalent.
• 3-5 years experience in mining or heavy industrial instrumentation.
• Experience working with primary gyratory crushers and monitoring/automation platforms (e.g., Metso, TSUV sensing systems).

Responsibilities

• Instrumentation Maintenance & Calibration
• Maintain and troubleshoot TIMS (Tank Instrumentation Monitoring System) sensors, ensuring real-time monitoring of lubrication system flow, pressure, and temperature.
• Inspect, test, and calibrate sensors involved in lubrication, hydraulic pressure, temperature, vibration, and oil monitoring, critical to crusher health.
• Ensure sensor accuracy to support predictive maintenance strategies for intelligent gyratory crushers.
