Job summary

STELO is seeking an Instrument Mechanician to install, calibrate, maintain, fault find and repair instrumentation and related control systems to ensure accurate measurements, stable process control and safe operations in a zinc mining environment.

The role requires 3–5 years post-trade experience in instrumentation, valid instrumentation authorisation, and a willingness to work in mine conditions. You will support PLC/SCADA/DCS systems, document activities in CMMS and mentor apprentices.

Qualifications

• Valid Instrumentation Authorisation (as per mine requirements).
• Medically fit for mine work.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, maintain, fault find and repair instrumentation.
• Carry out planned, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on instrumentation.
• Support PLC, SCADA or DCS systems and diagnose instrument alarms/process deviations.
• Maintain calibration certificates, loop diagrams and instrument histories.
• Mentor apprentices and collaborate with electricians, technicians and engineers.
