Job summary

Volt Africa in Cape Town is seeking an energetic advertising sales professional to drive revenue across SMME and agency clients. You will identify opportunities, prospect and secure new business, and present compelling multimedia proposals.

You will grow revenue from existing clients through upselling, cross-selling and integrated digital, print, social media and events solutions, while building strong relationships with decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of proven advertising/media sales experience.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Proven experience in cold calling, prospecting and new business development.
• Experience with SMME clients and/or media agencies.
• Strong understanding of digital media and advertising.
• Experience with print, social media, events and integrated multimedia advertising solutions is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Ability to write compelling sales proposals and presentations.
• Strong computer literacy with sales and digital platforms.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Achieving and exceeding individual and team sales targets.
• Identifying, prospecting and securing new SMME and agency business.
• Growing revenue from existing clients through upselling, cross-selling and integrated multimedia solutions.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with SMME clients, media agencies, advertisers and key decision-makers.
• Understanding client and agency objectives and developing creative, relevant and commercially sound media solutions.
• Selling across a portfolio of print, digital, social media, events, sponsorships and other multimedia platforms.
• Developing and presenting compelling media proposals, presentations, packages and campaign solutions.
• Confidently handling negotiations and overcoming objections to close business.
• Identifying opportunities to increase client spend, campaign frequency and share of revenue.
• Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline, forecasts and CRM records.
• Working collaboratively with editorial, digital, social, events, marketing and other internal teams to ensure successful campaign delivery.
• Delivering exceptional client service and account management throughout the sales cycle.
• Maintaining and growing market share, client retention and revenue within allocated markets and portfolios.
